Good point, Dark Wyccan. Paganism, in and of itself, is not a religiion, folks. Let's face it, it's a blanket term. Your individual tradition is your religion. As far as organization goes.. it's already there. Drakoth, you sound pretty hermetic (just your use of the idea of 'evolving magick'). Try looking into The Church of Satan, The Temple of Set, or the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. There's your organization. But wait, you're a druid? Try the New Forest Centre. But wait, your're a Gardenian Wiccan? Pick up Buckland's big book o' Wicca and follow the adresses in the back. There's /plenty/ of organization out there if you look for it. The fact remains, though, most of us just don't want it; and I for one am having a fine time 'evolving' magick all by my lonesome.
As for the other point, solidarity to promote public acceptance.. with all due respect, I find that patently offensive. I should think that it would be obvous, at this point, dark paganism is not going to achieve public recognition and acceptance by sticking together and showing that we're not bad people. Let's face it.. by all the standard definitions, we /are/ bad people. So be it. I don't agree with that judgement, but it's quite beyond my power to change, and i'm not about to devote myself to some half-baked pagan solidarity organization for the sake of pleasing the great unthinking masses, most of whom i'd just as soon spit on as look at. And you know what? I do! Because if dark paganism isn't about empowerment, I don't know what it is about. I have the power to stand against the prejudice on my own two feet. May whatever gods you serve grant you the same.
