I read your question and I have the same question. However only 2 of my nails were white and infected. The nail guy told me it was a fungus that was caused by water and such that gets trapped between the acrilic nail and real nail. He left them alone for a while but today he suggested I take them off. He has told me to use products such as alcohol, iodine, and Dr. G's clear nails liquid treatment. If you find anything that works or any more info please let me know also.
