my brother use to work for a moving company and he droped a peice of furniture on his foot...as bad as the damage appeared when the event first took place it healed pretty well...the entire nail was damaged and came off on its own but within a two and a half to three month time frame the entire nail had grown back. as far as the nail bed is concerned we kept his foot wrapped and he didnt wear and color socks as well as not keeping on the white socks for too long to avoid any infection or futher damage to the nail bed........but in the the end following the instruction given by the doctor and keeping it clean it grew back just fine.
