I don't bite my nails as bad as I tend to munch on my loose cuticles/hangnails... i don't understand why the pain doesn't stop me, but the thing that works for me (since the spicy/bitter nailbiter concoctions do jack for me) is chewing on a paperclip or rubber band or something small and interesting for my mouth. As long as I don't breathe it in, I'm fine.... I suppose the next step is a tongue piercing, which i'm looking into because it's that hard for me to stop... >:)
