Not a big fan of long toe nails myself but I would imagine the care would be similar to finger nails.

However, if you wear shoes/socks alot your toe nails would probably not be fairing as well as finger nails. Fungus, salty sweat, and the constant pressure would all likely attribute to weaker nails that don't grow out well.

And when you stub a toe you are probably expending MUCH more pressure than you realize given that legs are naturally stronger. So appart from protective footware you'll have be be all the more careful with foot placement. Maybe you could adjust sandals or "flip flops" to extend past the toenail so that when you stub your foot that takes part of the hit. I'm thinking like say, if you got a flipflop that was too large and then moving the part that sticks between your toe(s) inward more so there is more room in front? You might start walking like a guy with scuba fins on tho!

All I can think of off the top of my head.
