Like many things this started out as part of a joke, a score of over 80 on the Goth Test qualified one as a net.goth. Since then it has been used as a general handle for a goth who communicates a great deal via the internet, particularly one who frequents alt.gothic. See also: Goth Test, Alt.gothic
