:Wumpscut: was created on May of 1991 by Rudy Ratzinger (03/June/1966) in Bavaria (Germany). According to Rudy the word :Wumpscut: has no meaning, it's a synthetic word. His first works were the tapes Defcon (1991) and Small Chambermusicians (1992). VUZ Records signed with Rudy and :Wumpscut: appeared in the compilation New Forms of Entertainment together with Darpa and Dive.

The first album, Music for a Slaughtering Tribe, was released on VUZ in December of 1993. After the release of the Dried Blood MCD and its extension, Smell the Blood (on Ant-Zen Records in 1994), Rudy formed his own label: Beton Kopf Media in 1995. This label is for :Wumpscut:’s releases only, and started with the Gomorra MCD, and the second full length album, Bunkertor 7. The compilation The Mesner Tracks was released in the begging of 1996 with 15 early :Wumpscut: songs.

Rudy also created another label: Mental Ulcer Forges, for other artists than :Wumpscut:, like Remyl, B-TON-K and Noisex.

With the release of the compilation The Remix Wars (together with Haujobb) in 1996, the US label Metropolis signed with Rudy to re-release all of his work in the american market. After that, the third album, Embryodead, was completed. And the MCD Dried Blood of Gomorrha was released putting together the european only MCDs Dried Blood and Gomorra.

Born Again followed in 1998 with remixes from Embryoded’s songs and some unreleased tracks.

And in 1999 :Wumpscut: released the double MCD Totmacher (Deadmaker) as a preview of its fourth full length album: Boeses Junges Fleisch (Eevil Young Flesh). In the same year the MCD Ich Will Dich (I Want You) comes with some remixes from the fourth album.

The 2000 release is BlutKind (BloodChild), a double album compilation with works from the first :W: tapes, and a multimedia track.
