So who is this Dark Wyccan fellow who more know by his sites than by his name? John Coughlin is located in NY (USA) and although he does not like to give out his age I will give you a hint: Sesame Street started the same year. He now lives about an hour upstate from New York City, where he works as a Systems Manager.

On the Goth side, John’s websites include his Gothic Guide to Nail Care, Corporate Goth, Gothic Personals and Gothic Classifieds, and a Gothic Hiking Page for the locals. Oh and this Encyclopedia of course! His other sites are dedicated to Pagans, which is his spirituality. The goal of his sites, is to "build community" – to provide a safe place for people to meet and share ideas without commercializing it to death. In fact all of his sites are free, even his personals, which are by far better than most pay services out there.

John is also an avid writer, and although he often keeps his writing private, he finally published a book called Out of the Shadows: An Explanation of Dark Paganism and Magick. Hopefully he will share more of his work on that subject and quit being such a private person.

Overall you are not likely to meet John in person unless you look for him. He likes to keep a low profile and he won’t let me say much more about him in this article! Still, despite his quiet and subdued nature, he’s one of the more likeable people you are likely to meet, although his sometimes serious look when he is lost in his thoughts might make him seem unapproachable! His humor is often twisted yet subtle.. much like him when you think about it!!!
