Free?

The Gothic Classifieds is a free service to the Gothic/Alternative Community - no strings, no tricks. HOWEVER, I make two big exception: I request a small fee from businesses advertising in the For Sale category (click here for more details). I also request an even smaller fee for the Personal ads section to keep the service from getting bogged down in vanity ads.

What's the catch?

None. You are free to view the ads as well as place ads (provided you register as a member - which is also free of course). The registration process simply helps weed out invalid email addresses and pranksters.

I do not sell/distribute your e-mail address, and reserve the right to not accept paid advertising.

But how do you make money?

Quite simply, I do not. I donate my own time and resources towards this project. It was not designed to generate a profit. Banner ads help cover some costs.

Donations of any amount help cut costs and allow me to afford additional improvements and features. Such donations are optional, but when you think that other services charge $15 or more a month, a $5 - $10 donation a year is a worthy investment to ensure the Gothic Classifieds continues to grow.

Why provide a free service.

Because I can. Life is complicated enough as it is and I hate to see people make a profit on simple things that can be offered for free.

It disturbs me immensely how commercial the Internet has gotten. Advertising banners often outweigh content and junk mail (a.k.a. "spam") clogs my email account daily... where does it end????

I'll tell you where it ends - it ends here, on this site. Consider this a haven from the bombardment of advertising and sales pitches.
