Sunnyside, Queens (NY) | Foxwood is a dedicated temple to the Old Gods and a Traditional House of the Old Religion. Originally founded in 1990 in Maryland by Lord Orion, High Priest in Romano-Celtic and Alexandrian Traditions and initiate of Welsh Tradition. The teachings of Foxwood are based on the ancient ways of Romano-Celtic Traditional Witchcraft or the 'Old Religion' as transmitted by Lady Circe of the Sisterhood and Brotherhood of Witchcraft . Foxwood is also influenced by the teachings of Prytani Celtic, Strega, and Faerie Traditions.
Foxbriar, a grove of Foxwood, was founded in 1999 by Lord Gavyn Foxwood who currently resides in the metro New York City area. Foxbriar Grove offers Foxwood's one year long, two part, Introduction to the Old Religion class annually. The training is aimed at providing accurate information on the Old Religion and is not necessarily aimed at eventual initiation into Foxwood. In addition a second class is offered to students who dedicate to Foxwood Temple. Both Foxwood Temple of Maryland and Foxbriar Grove sponser Sabbat celebrations, workshops and rituals open to all students.
