Heathens on the Hudson Proto-Branch of the Church of All Worlds |
| |
| Heathens on the Hudson 'A Branch-forming of the Church of All Worlds,' is the public face of our region's nests, which are the celebratory groups within CAW, one of the oldest incorporated Neo-Pagan churches in the United States. CAW was founded on the idea that our modern mythologies are every bit as important as the ancient ones. Drawing inspiration from Robert Heinlein's novel 'Stranger in a Strange Land,' the people of CAW acknowledge immanent divinity through the sharing of water and the greeting 'Thou Art God and/or Goddess.' We embrace many traditions and pantheons, feeling that the personal mythic journey is important. We encourage good friendship, good fun, and positive sexuality, with personal responsibility toward the larger community of Gaia, and beyond. We believe that we are not merely re-creating the old mythos, but instead we are weaving a vibrant new tradition, with respect for the ancient and the modern world alike.
We are open to interested individuals and families in the Hudson Valley area, including New York City, Long Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Upstate New York, New Jersey and the surrounding area.
