Westchester - New Coven
April 30, 2006

My Craft name is Sky. I was initiated as a Witch in 1990 by a coven called Dawn Blaze and I joined an elder group named Flambé in 1997 - both in Connecticut. I currently still work with Flambé but I also yearn to form a new coven as well. I am a 33 years old gay male, living in Tarrytown, NY and my time to teach the Craft has arrived. I have a few friends who come to open Circles regularly and they have asked me to start a new group and teach.

For reasons that are difficult to put into words, I feel compelled to seek a couple more Dedicates before I begin this journey. He/she may be new to the Craft or practicing; she/he could be male or female or both, gay or straight or bi, older or younger; but he/she needs to be the “one” that is also seeking us. I believe groups form organically, but not without energy and effort. This is why I post this message.

So if you are interested in learning the Craft, or you are continuing your journey in the Craft and want a Coven, or for some reason, you feel that you are this person I am seeking, please contact me. Of course, I would want to meet with you first to discuss your interest and my orientation to the Craft first. Please read disclaimer below before emailing. E-mail me at mail@lotusfirecoven.com . I check email every 2 to 3 days.

Disclaimer:
I am not forming a traditional, initiatory or “degree”, Coven. I am forming a more non-hierarchical group. I will have 3 levels: Dedication when one joins this Coven, Initiation as a Witch after one year of study with the Coven, and Eldership after a minimum of five years of practice with the Coven. As an elder Witch experienced with initiatory groups, this decision is non-negotiable. I also hope to keep the group small, with no more than 8 members.

I plan to meet 12 times a year, or monthly: 6 Sabbots and 6 Full/New Moons each year. I would also try to meet with Coveners at least 4 times a year for individual teaching and/or practice.

My orientation to Witchcraft is non-traditional and open. I consider myself a Taoist Witch – yes, an apparent contraction. I do not celebrate the Sabbots by the sexual interplay of “God” and “Goddess” and I tend to have a Queer, yet inclusive, focus on ritual and Magick. If you are looking for traditional, heterosexist Wicca, this is not the right Coven for you.
