Four of us made it for the hike: Me, Coley, Jeff and Harry. We started 20 mins late due to train delays but that was expected. As usual, it was not hard to find everyone.. gotta love freaks. The weather could not have been better - cool but comfortable. We took the trail that winds along the stream just south of Breakneck Ridge; It's the easiest of the trails in that area and almost always shaded. The ruins along the way add to the experience I think.
The group stopped for lunch at the old stable ruins and we quickly dropped by the lake next to it before heading back. That lake is so beautiful in the fall when the multicolored leaves reflect on the lake. I hope Harry's pictures of it come out since I'd love a copy! It's one of my favorite places.
When we exited the trail, Harry offered us a ride back to town since he was parked near the trail. We hung out there for a while, window shopping and then stopped for some coffee/tea, etc. This lady was selling some deer skulls for $6 each so I grabbed a few for home - you can never have enough skulls!
We ended the day by the old church that over looks the Hudson. It's a small chapel build in 1833 and as luck would have it, it was actually open so we could check it out. (It is usually closed and I have often wondered what was inside.) I think we all agreed that this place would make a kick ass gothic club!
