I did two different designs in the past couple of months that I really like! I always try to be creative, but these were great. First one was this: I did my nails all black, and then got a toothpick and pushed it straight down onto a table so the end kind of smooshed and flattened into a circle. I dipped it in white polish (dripped on a piece of paper, not dipped in the bottle) and made polka dots. They all come out the same size so it looks really cool! The black and white looks great but you could do any color. The other idea I have on my nails right now: Paint them all red and use a silver gel pen (Gelly Roll's Lightning line of pens works best for this) to draw swirls and small dots on them. Just sort of randomly placed. Cover the design with clear topcoat. It looks very elegant and professional, I am proud of myself!

i'm currently having my right hand all bright yellow except the index finger painter bright pink. the left is all pink except the index finger yellow. then i paint small flowers on the index fingers. it is really funky cause the colours are so bright and draws attention. especially when the colours are so contrasting. i suppose bright orange can substitute the pink for a similar effect. a different effect can be created doing a french manicure with pink as the base and yellow as the tips. i imagine that it would look great.

for a great gothic look, i had all my fingers on both hands black except the index fingers which were painted red. and for my toes, they were all red with my big toe black. they look really cool, except that only black slippers can be worn, cause it will look really out of place with any other colour.

This is really nice if you so it propally ... You Paint The moon on your nail a lighter colour than you actual nail and then you could paint your moon baby pink then your nail a dark purlple orthe other way round if you dont have setencils then you can use a cellotape cut out the shape of your moon and then stick it so when you paint your nail you dont get it all over your nail and take it off when you do your normal nail ...but make sure you put top coat on your nail ..x ..x

By the Way im only 12

My favourite design is to paint all my nails except my left thumbnail with black and the thumbnail white. Then I draw a spiderweb over the white, either with liquid eyeliner or with a toothpick and nail varnish. The web seems to look best in black or silver. Then cover it all in clear/top coat!

Well, I learnt this technique in Art class, haha. What you do is take an extremely bright, possibly neon, color, like neon green, make sure when you put the color on you put like 2-4 coats, but that depends on how strong the nail polish it. After the green is fully dry, you put black over top, the first color doesn't really matter what color, but black works best as the second color. Don't let the black fully dry, but dry enough that it doesn't smudge or mess up, then you take a tooth pick and you make a design, the bright color stands out really well against the black. =D have funn.

If You Paint your nails all the one colour ( i preder deep pink ) and then put a strip of cella tape over your nail leaving a small line at the tip. Put a line of nail glue on the line and sprinkle some glitter over the glue. the glitter sticks to the glue and when you remover the cella tape it will leave a neat line and use a hair dryer to get of the exsess glitter :)

Well I tried alot of stuff with my (rather short) nails and found that painting your nails like a rainbow ie. your left hand might be red pinky orange ring finger yellow middle green index blue thumb then on your rignt hand dark blue or indigo thumb lilac or pink index finger then start again on your middle and end on yellow. It works well if you have the right colours and if you apply a clear bass coat to provent staining as you are using bright colours. I find that Collection 2000 HOT LOOKS nail varnish or paint is effective and cheap, Boots have a 2 for £2.50 sale on right now. Happy Painting :)

I really like to do red, white and blue nails for the forth of July. First you paint a vertical stripe of red, then white, and last blue next to each other, and in the end it will have a unique effect. And try hot pink and yellow, and white, or any other colors for something fun!!

If you have short nails:

1. Paint a base coat of any color, and let it dry.
2. Choose another color and paint from the lower left of the nail to the upper right corner. The trick is to curve the line a little to make the nail look longer.
3.Put on a top coat.

This technigue looks great with white and black!
