Great Tips so far!!!
I find that keeping my nails polished constantly helps them to become strong, protected and helps them to grow long. NEVER have fake nails put on, worst thing you can do and always massage the cuticle. Oh and be careful when doing up your zips girls coz i tend to catch my nails and it splits or cracks and then come the tears!!

My one friend says that she uses baby oil to keep the nail full of vitamins. It helps keep your nails healthy. Appy the baby oil before you paint your nails that way they wont break. Also, like I said before, this will keep your nail healthy and from breacking.

if you have long beautiful nails like i do, never use ur nails as TOOLS. when opening cans of soda be sure to use the gripping part of your thumb or other fingers and never use ur actual nail to open things etc. be sure to file them every time theres a chip or u see something that you don't like. eat protein, as it strengthens and increases the growth of your nails. I'm a heavy protein consumer and it help ur nails grow back fast.

I am a nail tech in Michigan and ran into your website. You have great info however I have a couple suggestions not found on your website which I thought you might want to pass along. First, to make your polish last longer apply a base coat designed to adhere to polish. I recommend Orly Bonder rubberized base coat. There are also other brands available but I found this one to work well. Also "cap off" off the edge of each nail with polish, whether it is the base coat, polish or top coat. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

1,All ways use the softer side of a emory bord on your finger nails and the rougher part on your toes, You have already been told about filing by other people.
2,NEVER file your nail when wet.(The nail is weaker and you will split it.)
3,You can cut the cutical back just be careful not to cut two far, only cut off excess.
I am doing an ITEC beauty specilist corse in the uk.
Hope my tips help you.

You can also strengthen your nails by soaking them in warm milk (30 seconds in the microwave) for about 5 minutes. This gives them calcium and helps them grow faster, plus it moisturizes the nail.

like alot of goths, i have a ton of peircings... and its always good to know where your nails are & have been around your peircing. especially w/ a new toung ring: if you bite your nails, get into the habit of washing yourhands every time you want to put them into your mouth... it will help you stop biting your nails thus saving them (& who knows maybe saving your toung an infection too) :)

First of all, thanks for all these! And I'd like to mention, daily massaging your cuticles (with or without cream/lotion) should help them grow faster. Once it becomes a habit (bored=massage cuticles) nails usually increase in growth rate and it can make them healthier.
