For me the NYC brand does the trick most of the time, although I prefer Wet 'n Wild for black. NYC dries pretty quickly too, which is nice when you're in a hurry. There is a cerulean blue from Petites that looks really nice used over black, as well. My all-time favorite color has to be 'skin-tight denim creme' from NYC, though. So pretty... |

I sell Avon and very recently got some Midnight Plum polish. It is a very dark almost black looking purple. I have short nails right now but my boss commented that my nails looked really good with that polish. |

I think the best black nail polish is made by Milani. It normally only takes two coats to be completely covered. Also, the brand Morbid (sold at hottopic) has some really funky colors that are great for being noticed. I wore their neon orange and my friends were able to see my nails from 60' away! I also use their glitter polishes over my black polish, there's really no way to describe how awsome it looks. My favorite Morbid color is the neon green with tourquise glitter... |

ive found that the Barry M range of nail polishes are very reliable when it comes to bold colour and not chipping at the ends. they have a natural gloss to them and move with the nails natural flexibility giving the colour staying power. they are around £3 which makes them great value for money. the deep purple colour is my fave at the mo. |

i have gotten really good results from avon's nail experts strong results length and strength. it makes your nails really hard but doesnt look like you have anything on at all and doesnt chip off so its good if your not allowed to wear nail polish at work |

One of my favorite polishes is by Rimmel its call Celebrity Bash, its a dark redish maroon color, they also have a really nice red called fever, If you like purple OPI does a great color called Lincoln Park After Dark, OPI also does a great silver called Dazziling Radiant Platinum *its hard to find though because it is part of their designer series. |

Rimmel has come out with a nice variety of darker colors and other arrays of nice looking colors including a nice silver that looks silver. ^^ |

I rather like "Raisin Rage" from Revlon; despite it's rather un-gothic-esque name, it looks like very dark blood once you put it on... |

My top three favorite non-blacks: Wet n Wild's Fantasy Makers line has a lovely deep, blood-red shade called Scary; Wet n Wild's #417E Eggplant Frost, which I believe someone else mentioned, is a wonderful deep, royal purple; and an awesome dark green is NailSlicks' midnight forest (may no longer be in production, as it is one of my old bottles that I use as mentioned in my post under Design Tips). |
